Successful implantation of a Micra leadless pacemaker via collateral femoral vein and inferior vena cava filter
This case details the successful implementation of a leadless pacemaker device in a patient with multiple venous occlusions and an IVC filter. As the incidence of IVC filters increases in patients with dysrhythmias, further investigations are required to determine the risk and safety of leadless pacemaker placement in this population.
متن کاملEarly performance of a miniaturized leadless cardiac pacemaker: the Micra Transcatheter Pacing Study
AIMS Permanent cardiac pacing is the only effective treatment for symptomatic bradycardia, but complications associated with conventional transvenous pacing systems are commonly related to the pacing lead and pocket. We describe the early performance of a novel self-contained miniaturized pacemaker. METHODS AND RESULTS Patients having Class I or II indication for VVI pacing underwent implanta...
متن کاملRetrieval of the Leadless Cardiac Pacemaker
Leadless cardiac pacemakers (LPs) have emerged as a safe and effective alternative to conventional transvenous pacemakers for patients with an indication for single-chamber ventricular pacing. In 2 prospective studies with intermediate follow-up, leadless pacemakers exhibited high acute implantation success rates and stable pacing performance at 6 months. Despite these promising results, the ab...
متن کاملA case of coronary cameral fistula.
An 85-year-old woman underwent transthoracic echocardiography for the investigation of breathlessness and atypical chest discomfort. Clinical examination was unremarkable. A standard 12 lead ECG demonstrated anterior T wave inversion, but was otherwise normal. Transthoracic echocardiography demonstrated a normally functioning left ventricle with hypertrophy and trabeculation of the apical and l...
متن کاملSymptomatic Coronary Cameral Fistula
Coronary cameral fistula is a rare entity and is characterized by an abnormal communication between coronary artery and a cardiac chamber. It is usually congenital and asymptomatic in majority of patients. If symptomatic the patients usually present in childhood. We present a case of 45-year-old male who presented with anginal chest pain and dyspnea on exertion for last 1 year. His exercise tre...
